What is it
A touchless, bladeless surface-laser treatment. The cornea is reshaped on its surface without creating a flap — ideal for thinner corneas or active lifestyles where a flap is best avoided.

May not suit if
The same gentle, blade-free laser approach as modern LASIK, customised to your eyes’ optics to create the blended zone — a quick day procedure under anaesthetic drops.
Steps
- Anaesthetic drops
- the outer surface layer is gently removed by excimer laser
- then the excimer laser reshapes the cornea
- a protective contact lens is placed to aid healing.
Safety
A long track record with excellent outcomes. Because the surface heals over several days, mild discomfort and light sensitivity are common in the first days.
Recovery
Vision clears over several days to a couple of weeks as the surface heals; the protective lens is removed at a follow-up; avoid rubbing, swimming and strong sun as advised.
